Rosenxt sponsors SmarTracks system at Emslandstadion Lingen
High-tech analysis technology for athletics
Lingen, August 21, 2025 – Technology for better performance – that is Rosenxt's vision. The internationally active technology company is a leader in the field of sensor technology and is constantly developing innovations to enhance performance in a wide range of applications. That is why sponsoring the modern SmarTracks system in the newly renovated "Emslandstadion" in Lingen (Germany) is a perfect fit. The aim is to further improve training conditions for track and field athletes with the help of state-of-the-art technology.
The SmarTracks system uses magnets embedded under the new synthetic track to generate a magnetic field. This allows a wide range of performance data to be recorded, from step frequency and stride length in running analysis to precise movement data in jumping and throwing disciplines, such as the exact moment of take-off. All data can be easily evaluated via a running belt connected to a smartphone and used specifically in training.
“As a company with a strong focus on sensor technology, we are particularly pleased to support SmarTracks as a sponsor – a real gain for regional sports,” explains Dirk van Vinckenroye, General Manager of Rosenxt. "As a technology company, we work with data every day to optimize processes – for example, when we use our inspection tools to check drinking water pipes for leaks during operation. We also use sensor technology specifically to assess the condition of systems so that our customers can operate them safely and for as long as possible. Data analysis enables us to reduce risks and increase long-term performance. We now want to offer athletes the same advantage: the opportunity to analyze their own performance based on data and improve it in a targeted manner. Together with VfL Lingen, we have created a top address in the region where sport and technology interact perfectly."
In addition to analyzing running, jumping, and throwing performance, SmarTracks opens up further possibilities: It supports the optimization of relay strategies, enables the simulation of competition situations, and makes an important contribution to injury prevention. The system was installed during the renovation of the stadium on the eight-lane circular track and has been in use for training since mid-August.
“We are very happy to have such a strong partner at our side in Rosenxt,” says Oliver Benner, Head of VfL Lingen. “With SmarTracks, we now have a unique opportunity in the region to support athletes individually and based on data. This is a real win for the region.”
