Rosenxt strengthens heavy plate testing through the acquisition of selected PLATEPROOF assets
Asset deal strengthens market position and long-term customer support in heavy plate testing
Wietmarschen-Lohne, 11. June 2026 – IDS GmbH, a company of the Rosenxt Group, has acquired selected assets of the heavy plate testing system business PLATEPROOF from Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG. The transaction covers, in particular, intellectual property related to PLATEPROOF as well as the relevant technical and commercial documentation associated with commissioning and service support.

This enhances our position in a specialized market segment and creates a solid foundation for the long-term support of existing systems as well as future modernization and new-build projects.”
The market for heavy plate testing is highly specialized, technically demanding and business-critical for customers. Worldwide, there are only a few manufacturers of heavy plates, yet demand is growing to meet the needs of infrastructure projects, the expansion of renewable energies and the maritime sector. With the acquisition of the PLATEPROOF assets, IDS is expanding its ability to support customers over the long term in operating, upgrading and further developing their testing systems.
IDS has many years of experience in non-destructive testing and extensive expertise in ultrasonic and eddy current inspection. Combined with know-how in electronics development, software, automation and system integration, the company offers solutions along the entire value chain – from design and manufacturing through integration to service and modernization.
The acquisition is part of the strategic development of IDS and underscores the long-term commitment of the Rosenxt Group to industrial applications of non-destructive testing. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
